New Slide!

This is Grandpa's long awaited slide. For awhile, there was nothing and so we blocked off the stairs so the kids couldn't even go up into the playhouse.  But, to Grandpa's defense, it was quite difficult to find a slide that would fit the playhouse because it was so high up. He found one on the internet and had to order two extra sections to make it fit.  We are all thrilled, especially the kids.  Riley even goes down without trouble.  One time, I was in the sewing room and saw her make an attempt to go down the slide.  She climbed up the stairs and I lost her for a moment.  I looked out the window and saw her going down head first ("Superman Style") as seen in the picture with Eli.  I was a little shocked, but she seemed okay and so I thought she must be okay.  Since then, she has learned to go down feet first.

Park Day!

A Friend in the ward invited Eli and Riley to the park.  We went and had a great time.  Eli loves playing with Riley at the park, and sometimes when we drive next to one, he asks "Can we go to a parking lot?" He mixes the term up sometimes.

"Good Girl!"

After lunch, I put Riley down on the floor and she started picking up the pieces that she dropped during lunch and put them in the garbage. I would respond to her "Good girl!" I walked for a few minutes and she followed me fussing the whole way. I didn't realize until I came back to the spot that it was because she was not finished and she needed to hear "Good girl!"

Eli's Dream

A while back, Eli had a bad dream about monsters or something and I had come to the conclusion that maybe because we had watched Narnia and the Dawn Treader too close to bed. We decided not to watch scary movies around that time because he would come to our bed and wakes us up.
Yesterday morning, he came into our bed and woke us up really early because he had a bad dream. I asked him what it was about and from what I can tell, this is what happened in the dream.
Grandma Koyle came to visit and brought him Legos. He opened up the box and inside, instead of Legos, there was a banana. Some how Mater from Pixar Cars was built.  Later on a squirrel came along and ate it.
While Eli was in our bed, he came to the conclusion, that there should be no more Narnia. This was his idea of a bad dream.

Your Turn

Riley loves music and sometimes Grandma will sing simple tunes like "la, la," or "da, da" and then stop for Riley to take a turn. The other day, Riley sat on my lap and was singing and suddenly she stopped and opened her eyes wide. I realized, it was my turn.

Easter!

Here is Eli dying hard-boiled eggs.  He not only had a great time and made a big mess, but he actually liked eating the eggs. Go figure, I didn't even know. If I had, I might have made more, and in turn, a bigger mess.

Yes, I know that Eli has a really long shirt on. He had a mishap in which pants were difficult. I didn't want him to miss out on all the Easter fun and so we made it work. We went to quite a few Easter Egg hunts. We went to one at Grandma Koyle's house, one at Great Grandma Jansen house, and one at my cousin's house in West Jordan. The pictures shown are from all of them.

Here, Eli Stopped for a cupcake.  In the middle of the Easter Egg, hunt, he was no longer interested in the plastic eggs. This ended up hurting his chances of getting all of the eggs, because the big kids went out at the same time as the little kids.  As seen in the picture with Riley and Charles rushing to get the eggs.

Dentist

It was time to take Eli to the dentist and I was a little nervous about how he would behave and so I prepared him the best I could and walked him through the entire process.  I told him he would get to ride in a cool chair, they would take special pictures of his teeth, they would tickle his teeth with special tools and then the dentist would count his teeth and if he was really good, he would get a special prize.
He was a complete angel and did everything with the best behavior.  When the hygenist cleaned his teeth, he did a fake hammy laugh and begged for the x-rays.  He wore the mouth guard with flouride and looked so funny just waiting patiently.  He was so good, they let him have two prizes.  I am really glad that his first experience at the dentist was so good.
