Cute Little Fairy!

Riley got this cute fairy costume for Christmas as a cousin gift.  She got it sent to her in the mail and we opened it together.  (This is a big deal because Mommy is an avid Amazon shopper and we get packages all the time, but this one was for her.) She loved it and had to put it on immediately and show everyone in the house.  We loved watching her walk around, and play with the wand and saying "I a picess."  She would only wear it for a few minutes at a time and then put it back on a few minutes later.  What a cutie!!!

Little People in Bethelehm

Riley got two Little People, Disney's Tianna and Rapunzel, for Christmas and Grandma has a Nativity Little People.  She recognized the short stature and wanted to keep them together. Grandma looked at that and said "I guess the Princesses went to Bethlehem."

Asher Moved In

Asher and his family has moved in and are staying upstairs.  The kids absolutely love him, especially Eli, he loves him almost too much.  With Riley, it's a love/hate relationship.  She is just two and feels misplaced by a baby playing with her toys, but she loves his toys.
We were at church and Asher was smiling at a little girl almost a year older.  Eli piped in "He's twitter painted."

It's Just Scary

Here Riley and Alexa are showing Grandma Cookie how to use the iPad.  Her reaction was so genuine because she really was fascinated with the technology and that the girls new how to use it.  "These kids come smarter these days." -as she puts it.

Happy Birthday Eli!

Eli has turned 5!  My where has the time gone? Just yesterday, we took him home from the hospital and now he is building Legos, playing with action figures like Ironman and just plane loving life.  I made him an Ironman cake because he loves him.  After making the cake, I asked him how he liked it.  He told me "You didn't follow the instructions."  Oh, well, we ate a few minutes later and then opened presents, which were, you guessed it, Legos!  Happy Birthday Eli!

So Pretty!

Riley got a new dress and she loves it.  I dressed her for church and told her she was so pretty, so did Grandma, Nae-Nae and Daddy.  She knew she was so pretty, that she went into the bishop's office and told the bishopric, before church, that she was so pretty.  They were kind and agreed with her that she was so pretty.

Santa!

Eli and Riley got to see Santa at the ward Christmas Party.  Eli was excited because he knew this year that you ask Santa what you want for Christmas.  Of course, he asked for Legos. Riley was excited because Eli was excited and she wasn't afraid of him becuase he gives candy canes.  She didn't ask for anything in particular, except for the candy cane.

Side note: When Eli was two, he asked for socks and a donut.

Eli's an Angel?

I know what you are thinking.  Eli is an angel! Well he was in the Christmas pageant.  He may have looked like one, but he acted like a little boy who loves to be in front of everyone.  He danced on the stage when he was supposed to hold still (as seen in the picture), he kept waving at Mommy, stomping back and forth and walking too close to the edge of the stage.  He was entertaining to say the least.  Afterword, several member complimented him, holding a giggle.  One member said, when the Koyle's move, Grandma and Grandpa will have to find a way to keep Eli here because they enjoy watching him so much.

Baby Blessing for Carter

Our family got together at my brother's in-law's to celebrate the life of Carter, my nephew.  Our entire family minus Jared was there and so we had to take a picture.  I also had to take a few pictures of my kids.  Riley was done with pictures and I had to give her cheese to keep her interested.  As you can see, Eli was willing to force her.  He was ready to be done too and that is why his picture is blurry, but so cute and worth sharing.

Flooded Out

Eli and Riley's room flooded from the washer hose coming unconnected. At first, we just had wet carpet and I when we told Eli about it, he had a great solution. "I know, you could get me rocket boots so that I could get across the wet carpet!"
Unfortunately, he won't be getting rocket boots and unfortunately, we had to rip out the carpet. We tried to make it fun for the kids, even though, their entire room is upside down. Eli got to sleep in a tent and Riley slept right next to him on her mattress. They took awhile to settle down because of the change, but eventually, they did settle down, right before Mommy and Daddy collapsed.

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween from the Koyle's!  Eli is a knight and Riley is a sheep.  She loves to watch a show called Shaun the Sheep and so we decided to make her a sheep for Halloween.  She learned to bleat pretty quick and when it was time to take it off, she didn't want to.  Of course, Eli adamantly refused to take his costume off, but we eventually did pry it off him.  The last picture below is the kids making faces and Eli laughing at Riley for her funny face.

Pigtails!

This is Riley wearing pigtails for the first time.  As you can see, she doesn't like it too much, therefore, we don't wear it too often.  I am slightly disappointed because I have a great selection of bows for them, but at the same time, I think she acts slightly naughtier when she wears them.  That could be the power of suggestion.

Just Woke Up

I think it is so funny when Riley just wakes up because she looks so much like her daddy.  They both have the pale blue eyes, with a bit of red with an expression that says "lights on, but nobody's home."
Lately, she has had her own bed for awhile now and she can now get out of bed when she wants, especially after she has been put to bed.  She usually comes to us and then says hi in a high-pitched cute voice.  A lot of times, she goes upstairs to Grandma and Grandpa and they certainly enjoy her when she is supposed to be in bed.  Sometimes, she goes upstairs rides the play horse as if we wouldn't notice.

October's Here!

October is my favorite month!  I love everything about it, to the smell of the season, to the sights of the orange leaves and all the cute crafts and kids costumes.  This Halloween, I have a few goals before the season is over.  I want to go to Gardner Historic Village, go to Thanksgiving Point, finish one Halloween craft, go to the Halloween isle in the store at least three times.  Well, we went to Gardner Historic Village with the cub scouts for the witch hunt and a cookie.  We loved it!

Happy Birthday Riley!

Riley has turned two and she has been acting like it about a week or two before her birthday.  She throws tantrums, ignores mom's requests, and gets into everything.  It's a good thing she is cute, or I don't' know what I would do.
We made a Winnie the Pooh cake with a basic star tip and a specialized cake pan.  It took some muscle, but it was well worth it.

Asher Came to Visit

Asher came to visit with Grandma and Grandpa. Riley knows who Jeron's name, but she doesn't know Oly's name and she refers to her as Ashrrr.  She also refers to the baby as Ashrrr.  Riley loves Ashrr, and so does Eli, However, he didn't like Asher's name.  When Jeron and Oly were naming Aher, they were deciding between the name Asher and the name Evan.  Eli wanted him to be named Evan and when he was named Asher, he kept complaining, "Why did they name him Asher?"  Finally, he came up with a solution.  "I know, we could have an Evan!"  I proposed the solution to Jeron and he didn't seem too happy.  Apparently, they can't share the name and wanted to name their next child.  I told Eli that Asher needs a brother named Evan.  He seemed excited about this notion.  We'll just have to wait and see if any of this happens.

First Day of School

It was Eli's First Day of School.  He was thoroughly excited and was ready an entire hour early.  He got a new pair of shoes and a new backpack, that he completely loves.  I am really excited for him, he gets to go trick or treating and on a field trip, book orders, etc.  I am also nervous, because my life now begins with schedules, and planning around school.  I am ready for it and so is Eli.

Love

Riley has learned to say "I love you" only, it sounds more like "I la' ye" there would be times she would say it at least a dozen times. I still never got tired of it.
Eli, Riley and me were having a movie day because we were all sick and we were watching The Swan Princess. In the movie, the prince makes a vow of everlasting love and promises to love the princess forever.
After the movie, I was so sick and couldn't get the kids to bed fast enough and my patience was growing thin. Eli then turned to me and said " Mom, I love you and I will love you forever and after you die, I will still love you." It never ceases to amaze me how in tune with the spirit, the little ones are. After a quick prayer to the Lord, they settled right down to sleep.

Stop and Smell the Roses

This is just a simple reminder to stop and smell the roses.
Eli did this at about the same age at the following link:

Nae Nae Came to Town!

Nae Nae came to visit for a common relative's wedding.  She enjoyed her time with them as the visit was long over due.  She brought gifts with her as seen in the picture below.  Riley got a tea set that was pink and had the Princess Aurora and Eli got, you guessed it, Legos.  They had a great time with her and she was really patient with Eli as they sat down together and built the Legos.  I feel like this is a treat, since she wouldn't even do that with her own kids.

Riley's Wardrobe

Riley has been growing more and more persistent when it comes to getting dressed. She wants to choose her own clothes and sometimes she will get dressed over clothes already on. Yesterday, she was wearing a purple skirt and she wanted to change into a butterfly skirt. Daddy helped her change and she was upset. Daddy told her she could have one or the other. While Daddy left, she put both on, only she couldn't get the purple one over her diaper. She showed Daddy that she could wear both. She did wear both skirts all day' even though it was in the triple digits. As a parent, you have to pick your battles.

Primary with Eli

This picture is an old one, but it depicts the following events so well.  Today, I got to help with Eli's primary class. I geared him up for it by telling him the day before. At first he didn't like the idea and told me that primary is his time. It was only rough at first and then after a few consequences, he was really good, other than pestering the secretary for another talk. We told him he has to wait for his birthday. He was a bit it restless at the rejection, but one he realized his friend Kyle was giving a talk, he sat and listened very intently. Kyle told of a story about a little pioneer boy who donated his wagon to use for the building of the temple. Eli started crying and would not calm down. I had to take him outside and explain to him the importance of temples. He still wouldn't calm down until I told him that the wagon was used to carry stuff for the temple and when they were done, the little boy could get it back. He was okay at this notion and went back to class.

Somebody Tooted.

John and his family was in town and we were all seated at the dinner table and we heard a loud toot. We all looked around awkwardly, waiting for someone to excuse themselves because we thought it was an adult, and all of the sudden, we heard this tiny voice say, " 'cues me." It was Riley. We laughed for awhile and now, after she toots or burps, she says " 'cues me" followed by laughter.
