Purple Sunday

This dress the baby is wearing used to be her cousin's and Riley's dress was given to her for her birthday.  I actually wore purple too, just because my girls did.

Kids!

We went to a restaurant yesterday at a chinese buffet and the kids loved it becuase they could choose their own food and get as much as they want. They were very good with their manners, until the end.  Riley was jumping on the bench and wiggling her bottom and dancing.  I told her that she wasn't behaving very well.  She replied, "No, I am dancing very well."

Watching TV

I know that taking a picture of kids watching TV can be fruitless, but my kids were so cute.  Riley decided to place a set of headphones on that were plugged into nothing while watching Frozen.
Meanwhile, Eli and Morgan are watching Lego Starwars.  Eli is laughing at a funny part and I told him that Morgan didn't get it and so he would have to explain the humor.  So, he did.  She still didn't get it, but she enjoyed sitting with her big brother and watching him laugh.

Eli loves his new sister Morgan.  He is always asking to hold her and when he does, she is starting to focus on his face.  I encourage him to talk to her and intorduce himself.  I can forsee a good relationship growing.  I love thse guys!

 

She's Growing

Here are some pictures that I took today of Morgan.  She is almost a month old and my has the time just flown by.  We love her dearly and call her our "blender" because she actually looks like both of my kids and she makes us look like a family.
The last picture shows pictures of her growing thighs and body.  Eli loves to give her zerbirts on her bare tummy.

Eat Slugs!

Eli has the queeziest stomachs I know.  While being pregnant, there was a time or two when he would throw-up because I did.  Often times, I had to kick him out of the bathroom, or he would throw-up.  He has learned, from my example to grab a stinky oil (essential oil) and take a whiff when he gets queezy.  One time, he witnessed the baby spitting up and he had to run to the bathroom to throw-up.  But today, by far was the funniest.  He was watching Harry Potter 2 and he threw up during the scene Ron Weasley was tossing slugs.  I made him clean it up.

She Dressed Herself

Riley dressed herself today.  It is not my choice of outfit, since it is black and brown, but she thinks they match because they are all polka dots.  Good thing we didn't go anywhere today.
Oh, and the shirt is on backwards, in case anyone was wondering what was going on with the hood.
In this next picture, she is featuring both colored leopard and zebra prints.  We did go to the store today, but since she is three, I didn't care.

PJ Time

Here is Riley dressed in a matching nightgown with Mulan.  It was a super sale and I thought it would help her get in her PJ's faster and easier.  It did. Girls are so fun.

Happy Saint Patricks Day!

I told the children to make sure and wear green today so they don't get pinched.  They were sure to do just that and we included the baby in that as well.

Chocolate!

Jared finally purchased a wet grinder for his new hobby. He loves to make it and I love to decorate with it and dip with it. The kids (and I) love to eat it too. He starts with the dry cocoa beans and roasts them in our oven, then he adds cocoa butter, lecithin and powdered milk (optional) to the mix and grinds it for 20-36 hours. We dipped strawberries with our first experimental batch and then added the leftover to make Winnie the Pooh in a cake mold pan. Next step, somehow temper the chocolate to make it more stable.

Mad Face

For some reason, Riley is just fine giving me a grumpy face, but not Daddy.  She will give them to me all day long.  I tell her to give dad one and she just smiles.  She might give him a micro mad face, but then she stops immediately with a happy face.  She calls it, "A little mad face."  Dad thinks it's hilarious.

How to Change a Diaper

Riley is demonstrating how to change a diaper.  The first step is to stick the baby on her head.  After that, the rest is easy; give it to mome to finish.  She'll make a great babysitter someday.

I wanted to take a picture of the kids and the new baby in their Sunday clothes.  Unfortunately, they were fighting over the baby.  They both wanted to hold her.  They love her so much!

First Bath

Morgan's umbilical cord finally fell off and after a very large blow-out, a bath was in order.  She looks like didn't enjoy it, but she actually really likes being clean.  A few minutes after her bath, she was happy and even Daddy could tell because he just got home and she was in good spirits.

New Piano

We got a new piano!  There goes my naps.  Fortunately, this piano came with head phones and volume control.  We have started to give Eli piano lessons and boy does he learn fast.  I hope my kids will grow to love music like my husband and I do.

First Smiles

Jared caught this picture of the baby with her first smiles.  I love it when babies smile and they can't help it.  My mom says that they are laughing at the angels.  The other pictures I captured while Grandma Mortensen was talking to her.  Eventhough it is too early for social smiles, I think grandmas have a way to get them out and make them smile. 

Chicken Legs

Morgan is different from our other children in the sense that she has chicken legs.  Normally, we wouldn't care, but she seems to get more blow-outs from her diapers becuase she doesn't have the chub on her thighs to stop the leaks.  We had to switch diaper brands to prevent this.

Grandmas' are Here!

There is no way that I could possibly survive this new baby without our Grandmas.  Both of which were an amazing help, comming in like a whirlwind to clean, watch the kids and most of all, love them. 

Let it Go!

Grandma Koyle and I were in the car on our way to pick up Eli from school.  Grandma koyle was talking about her mother and how she sometimes holds grudges.  All of the sudded we hear this little voice start singing the theme song to the movie Frozen, "Let it Go."

Borrowed Outfits

It is so fun to tell my kids that the outfits that the baby is wearing belonged to them at one point.  They love it and Riley will tell me that everything she wears was once hers (eventhough it may not be).  This blue nightgown was worn by all my kids, the others, just by Riley.
