Trike-a-Thon

Eli's school took part in a fund-raiser for St. Jude's Hospital, in which they taped the indoor common room to teach the kids about bike safety.  They had stop signs and yeild signs all over.  I felt so bad for Eli because I didn't realize that the kid had grown as much as he did.  His bike was teeny and he was riding so slow, while the other kids were zipping past him.  He had a great time anyway just riding with the other kids.

Skirt-Shirt

Riley dressed herself today.  She used a shirt as a skirt and she was proud of it.  In the bottom picture, she is grumpy because Eli is invading her picture with his bum.

Wink Face

Riley has been practicing winking.  She can't really wink, but she tilts her head and half closes her eyes.  She comes up to you and says, "Mom, I am giving you a wink face."  I love her face.  Eli can wink and I love his face just as much.

Another Tooth!

As if yesterday wasn't entertaining enough, Eli lost another tooth this morning.  Dad figured out how to use the string on his tooth.  Eli was fine with that technique and by the time he went to school he was able to show that he lost two teeth.

Eli Lost His First Tooth!

Eli lost his first tooth and it is about time.  The two bottom front teeth have been loose for almost a month now and he has new teeth growing in already.  We tried tying a string to his tooth and the door, but the string wouldn't stay on.  He was convinced that he wouldn't go to bed until his tooth came out.  Therefore, I took a pair of pliers and pulled it out.  It hurt, but only for a minute.  It is under his pillow now, awaiting the tooth fairy.

Riley's First Day in Primary

As the new year comes, so does a new primary class.  Riley got to go to Sunbeams today and it was... as to be expected.  She really loved nursery and her nursery teacher, Sister Marquez.  As she was in there, she told her teacher that she was a little bit scared.  The teacher gave her a stuffed monkey and asked her to sit with it.  She did and I think things went ok after that, except we found her with no shoes when it was time to pick her up.

New Year's Day

To celebrate the new year, we had a party with the kids the night of New Year's Eve.  We played games, watched a movie and had milk and cookies and  root beer floats.  I thought we would let the kids stay up until 10:00, but they made it until 9:00.  The next day, they wanted to continue playing games.  A few days later, the games finally slowed down.  I am just glad they had fun.
