This Christmas Carrie and Matthew came all the way from Ohio. They were able to see Joe and Eli for the first time. Makenzie was so curious at the little babies. Since Joe just came from NICU and Courtney didn't want to expose him to anything, I encouraged her to look at Eli. She couldn't keep her eyes off him.

So Little!
Even though Eli is only five days old, he has brought so much joy to his parents. His father, Jared, had a difficult time deciding what career path to take. At first it was law school or business school and a week before law school applications were due, he decided that was not the path to take. He didn’t decide on a career path until he found out that Jenifer was pregnant.
During much of the pregnancy, there was the usual anxiety that resides; such as how can we financially make this work, will I be a good parent, will my baby be healthy? One thing was for sure, Eli was sent from Heavenly Father to bless Jared and Jenifer’s lives so they can start their eternal family. As soon as Eli was born, Jared remarked that the world was a much softer place. He would come home and see Jenifer nursing and his face would lighten up and we would know that our lives were full of purpose.

Merry Christmas from the Koyles!
This year, we didn't get a chance to send a Chistmas card. I don't know why, maybe we were a little busy. I hope that this blog will do, since we did get a perfect little treasure under our tree.

Look at all that Hair!
Look at all that hair! I can't believe that he was born with all that hair. My mother wanted me to take a picture of the back of his head to show it off.

First Photos
Eli was born on December 12, 2007 to Jared and Jenifer Koyle. He was born at 8:07 a.m. weighing 7 lbs 7 oz. Eli is the fourth grandchild on both the Mortensen side as well as the Koyle side. I had a very difficult pregnancy with morning sickness and seeing his face when he came out made it real. I stared at his face and realized that he was mine sent from heaven.
We had a very difficult time picking his name. Jared didn't like talking about names until he saw the child. However, I disagreed and during the last week of pregnancy, I picked a name for every day of the week and which ever name he was born, that would be his name. He didn't come on "Jefferson" or "Noah." He decided to come on "Bubba." Well I couldn't have a child named "Bubba" and so we had to go with Jared's method and see the child. I looked at him and wanted to call him "My Little Guy." That was too long and so I shortened it to Eli. It's funny because we had not even considered that name during the entire nine months. It must have been inspired.
