Meet Baby Laurel

This is Oly and Jeron's brand new baby Laurel.  My grandfather was named Lawrence Jansen and my mother was named, Laurette, after him.  She supposed to be the last child and so they altered the name to be feminine.  My grandpartents had three other children after her.  Her uncle would say to her, "You don't put the caboose in the middle of the train."
My brother and his wife wanted to name their new little one after my mother, but she told them not to, because it was an old name.  They changed it a little and named her Laurel.  Welcome to the family Baby Laurel!

Playing Together

I love moments like these, where there is peace in the home and all the children are playing altogether.  Also, it is so sweet to see Morgan just being one of the kids. She is starting to lose her babyness and become more of a child.  Infact, when Riley plays with her Barbies, Morgan copies her.  Riley will make the dolls talk and then Morgan will make the dolls talk with her baby jibberish.  So cute, I love them all. Also, the lego on her hand is a bracelet. I love her imagination.

First Day of School Pics

It is Riley first day of preschool today, Eli's was a few weeks before.  I know his hair looks a little long, but we are waiting for Grandpa to come and visit so they can get it cut together.  No matter to me, he is still cute!

Princess for a Day

This is Riley's Elsa Dress. I was going to save it for Halloween and/or her birthday, but I forgot that her preschool started.  I knew it was supposed to start on August 4th, but since I had to work, I completely spaced it.  When she found out, she was a wreck and I couldn't get her to stop.  I decided to change her attitude and give her the dress.  She was so excited and when Riley decided to wear it, Morgan had to have one too.  We put her in one of Riley's old ones, but she was too short and kept tripping on it.  So we tried on the pink one and she loved it.

She is Growing!

Look at how big Morgan is!  She has so many teeth. She is not quite 18 months, but very close. We are counting down the time to nursery and started attending with her. Of all my kids, she is the only one I am worried about for this, because the others were so outgoing and Morgan is used to older siblings being with her all the time. Also, I worked part time with the others, Morgan is usually home with me all the time. When I am with her at nursery, she does ok. We will see when it is time for her to go without me.
And here is a picture of Riley, who loves her daddy.

The Patch

As part of Morgan's cross-eyed condition, we are attempting to cover her straight eye to make the cross eye go straight.  It helped for about two weeks, until she figured out how to pull it off.  Surgery will most likely be inevitable.

Ha!

Morgan was messy and eating and decided to run her fingers through her hair.  I then put her hair in the bathroom sink to wash out the food.  I put a towel on her head and when it came off, it looked like this.  I told her to make a funny face so I could take a picture.  She humored me.
