Easter Egg Hunt

It is now time for the annual Easter Egg Hunt.  It was really fun because both kids actually understood the point of the event.  It was a particularly cold day, as you can see the boots, coat and for Eli, the gun.

Riley is Not a Baby Anymore

Riley has grown up so much this past week.  She has been potty training and it has been unreal.  We got her a pink potty chair that plays music when she pees and she has pretty much potty trained herself, with very few accidents.  She also has given up naps and has been down the McDonalds big slide.  She is no longer a baby.
Another reason she has grown up is in these pictures I painted her nails for the first time. I did it to cover up a bruised fingernail.  She kept thinking she needed a bandaid and I was worried she might get a rash, so we covered it up so she could not think about it.  It was so fun and she held as still as a two year old could.  She loved it and acted dainty and precious.  I love having a girl, even if she does grow up too fast.

Mommy Promised

Riley asked if she could watch her current favorite movie, Dumbo, and I said she could.  I slipped into the bathroom for a quick minute and when I came out, she gave me an angry look and said "Mommy! You promised!"

Riley's New Bed

Grandpa Mortensen made a new bed to match the crib frame of the bed that all my brothers and I slept in.  He painted it baby blue. I wanted to make it slightly more feminine for Riley, so I asked Grandma Koyle to get some pink vinyl lettering.  When we finally got it, I snuck into her room when Daddy was home watching the kids.  I got the bottom done and when I started on the top when Riley discovered what I was doing.  I almost didn't get it done because she was ready to go to bed at that point.  She was so excited, she was giggling, shouting "Pincess, pincess!" She had to call Grandma Koyle, Grandpa Koyle and Rachelle to tell all about her new bed.
A few days later, we made the princess pillow that I found on Ebay and for Christmas, Grandma Mortensen made the Cinderella blanket.  She has a decked out princess bed under $25 dollars.  We both love it and Eli did too.  He even said, "Riley's bed got upgraded."

The Wind

We were sitting down at dinner and Jeron tooted. He and Nae-Nae then proceeded to explain to Eli all the different terms for flatulence, one of which included "broke the wind."  Eli of course was rolling over laughing.  After we all quieted down, he asked "How do you help the wind?"

Cute Little Fairy!

Riley got this cute fairy costume for Christmas as a cousin gift.  She got it sent to her in the mail and we opened it together.  (This is a big deal because Mommy is an avid Amazon shopper and we get packages all the time, but this one was for her.) She loved it and had to put it on immediately and show everyone in the house.  We loved watching her walk around, and play with the wand and saying "I a picess."  She would only wear it for a few minutes at a time and then put it back on a few minutes later.  What a cutie!!!

Little People in Bethelehm

Riley got two Little People, Disney's Tianna and Rapunzel, for Christmas and Grandma has a Nativity Little People.  She recognized the short stature and wanted to keep them together. Grandma looked at that and said "I guess the Princesses went to Bethlehem."
