Zoo Trip

It was my birthday and I wanted to do something out of the ordinary.  I called my cousin who has a zoo pass and asked if we could go.  I am so glad that I did because we had so much fun.  Eli's favorite animal was the rattle snake and for the next few weeks, he kept asking me to tell him stories about rattle snakes.  While at the zoo, he even rode the snake at the carousel and when we did see a rattle snake, he didn't want to leave.  He loved the reptile home and could have stayed all there all day.  Unfortunately, it was really stinky and humidity and we decided that we didn't want to stay there all day.  Fortunately, there were other things to see.  Like the polar bear exhibit and the new sea lions.  It was pretty impressive.

At first, Riley thought that all of the animals were monkeys.  Eli and I taught her by the end of the day all sorts of other animals.  She can't quite say porcupine, but she'll get there.

What Comes from Daddy?

I trained Eli to point to me when asked "Where do you get your good looks from?" We tested this in front of Daddy and he smiled and asked Eli, "Where do you get your brains from?" Eli responded; "From God."

Below is a picture of Eli in a crown from primary for being. He was kind to share it with Riley.

Mom and Dad's Trip

Mom and Dad took a trip to St. George to enjoy the weather, and because he was competing in a poster event through his school.  We knew that this was our only chance to be together just before the long haul of his last year in school.  I enjoyed the trip and wanted to visit the temple because, six and a half years earlier, we went on our honeymoon to St. George and they didn't have the temple open at that time. It was December and they were closed for renovations.  Therefore, I was really excited at the notion of going this time.  That was pretty much the highlight of our trip.

Fun at the Park

We got called at the last minute to go to the park and play with all the other kids in the ward.  We went and had a great time. Riley loved running up and down the bridge and going down the slides just her size.  Eli loved pushing her down the slide and fortunately it was low enough to the ground so as not to cause too much damage if he pushed her too hard.

Ants Inside of Me!

Eli was sitting down eating and all of the sudden he shivered and shouted: "There are ants inside of me!"
I was concerned because I thought he might have eaten an ant. I looked closer and saw goosebumps. I explained to him what was really going on; that he had shivered and had a chill that caused goosebumps and that they weren't ants.

Eli's View

Eli's friend from the ward gave Eli this bike.  He has a hard time learning to ride it because he focuses so much on the pedaling that he doesn't look where he is going.  We found ourselves at the bottom of our street and when you look toward the top, you could see the temple.  I told him to look straight ahead and look at the temple.  When he would watch the temple, he did not crash, when he looked away, he would veer toward the direction of his vision and crash.  I asked him after he crashed, what happened and he would reply, "I looked away from the temple."

Riley's Hair.

I am so excited about this picture for two reasons.  The first is because she finally has hair to stand up. The second is,  because of all the static electricity from the trampoline, it causes her hair to stand up.  She is quite the little jumper on that trampoline and can now leave the ground when she jumps.
