Vegas!

We decided we wanted to get out of the awful inversion and somewhere sunny.  We tried Vegas.  We were nervous to take our children to Sin City, but surprisingly, Vegas has a lot to offer for families, if you look.  The hotel we stayed at was a condo type, called the Tuscany.  We requested nonsmoking rooms, enjoyed the pools and had plenty of room in the hotel. We brought our own microwave and went to the grocery store for things to cook in it so we could save money and spend it on some of the activities and better places to eat.  We went to the Discovery Children's Museum (similar to the one in Salt Lake, but three times bigger.) and the kids just played ALL day.  They had SO MANY things to do, like water activities, tunnels to crawl through, pretending to be adults with their jobs, a little baby corner, dress ups (of course Riley prefered the pirate to the princess, until I encouraged the princess)

Another activity that we did for the kids was container park. It is this little park surrounded by shopping centers. The playground was made from old box cars and there was plenty of things for them to do, like foam blocks and this life size simon says electronic game.
Some of the fun things Jared and I did included eating out. Our favorite was a Japanese all you can eat place, called Yama Sushi, in which I tried Umi. Umi is a sea urchin. My father-in-law doesn't complain, but that was the one thing he mentioned that was gross. I had to see if he was right, he was. Also we ate at a buffet, Studio B, that had everything to try. They had a section for each country, from Italian, American, Chinese, Japanese, etc. We usually try to eat there between dinner and lunch. Well worth the long line to get inside. After eating and eating and eating, we all came back to the hotel to crash, as seen below.
