Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween from the Koyle Family!  Eli was a ninja, Morgan was a lamb, Riley was a Pink Power Ranger, at least for the Koyle Halloween party.  Riley changed her mind for trick or treating and wanted to be Elsa (I wanted her to be Elsa the whole time because as a power ranger, she wanted to fight).

Eli's Report

Eli had a report to do on a mammal, the rat.  Along with the written report, he had to do a survey, a detailed diagram, a mask, as seen in the picture and an oral report.  It was a lot of work, but he did it, with a lot of urging from Mom and Dad.  Other kids just read the report, but we made him do a really good presentation because that is what we thought would be required.  He did an amazing job by actively getting the kids involved by asking several questions.

Another funny Eli story.  He said that his ankle on his hand hurt.  I responded, you mean your wrist? He responded, yeah.

Happy Birthday Riley!

Happy Birthday Riley!  She had a princess birthday party.  We played all sorts of games, like pin the tail on the pony, scavenger hunt with princess figurines, photoshoot with a princess (Rachelle Koyle), a pinata, princess cup cakes, punch and ice cream.  I invited about 12 girls with the crown invitations and we had about 5 come, perfect for crowd control.

Cute Kids on Sunday!

I know I have a dozen or so pictures of my children dressed in their Sunday best, but here are some more.  I also have one of me.  Enjoy it, because it is rare of me to take pictures of myself while being pregnant.  I did, however, have one taken during my last pregnancy and I loved it, so I decided to do it again.

This picture of the girls in purple looks like they are mad at each other, but just Morgan, it is nap time. Unfortunately, it is the best picture I could get of the girls in these dresses.

Grandma is an OK Babysitter

I had to go to work today and asked Grandma to watch my kids.  I was a little worried because Riley had preschool, Eli was in school and so Morgan would be watched alone.  I told Morgan that Grandma was going to watch her and then I would come home and be with her.  She turned her back to me, screamed really loud and then started breathing really heavy.  Grandma watched her and she was just fine.

Riley's Getting Married!

Our neighbor's across the street own a sprinkler business and their yard is immaculate.  They often have weddings in their yard.  Riley saw a bride across the street and had to get a wedding dress too.  This is her Halloween costume from last year, when she was a nice princess ghost.  I figured it would work for her wedding dress.  Morgan had to dress up too.  We decided she was a bridesmaid.
The next day, Riley told her entire primary class that she got married.  When they asked who the groom was, she told them Jesus.  Wrong dress, Riley.  Silly girl!

Meet Baby Laurel

This is Oly and Jeron's brand new baby Laurel.  My grandfather was named Lawrence Jansen and my mother was named, Laurette, after him.  She supposed to be the last child and so they altered the name to be feminine.  My grandpartents had three other children after her.  Her uncle would say to her, "You don't put the caboose in the middle of the train."
My brother and his wife wanted to name their new little one after my mother, but she told them not to, because it was an old name.  They changed it a little and named her Laurel.  Welcome to the family Baby Laurel!
