Daddy's Helper

Eli wanted to help Daddy change the oil in the care.  As you can see, he was a big help.

Kitty

As long a I can remember, Grandma Koyle has had kitties at her house.  We always have to be careful with kids and pets and that is why Daddy is in the picture.  One time, my niece held was over for a graduation party and she held one of her cats by the neck.

Update: One time, Riley, ran through the house, holding a kitty by the neck and swinging it back and forth. I think she was two. We did teach her not to do that.

Update 2: During the summer of 2013, Eli would love to play with the kitties.  One time, a kitty scratched Eli and he put the kitty's nose in the corner to punish him. We did teach him not to do that.

Remember to Wear Your Hair Nets!

While I worked at Dunford Bakers, I used this picture and made a poster to remind the employees to wear their hairnets.  If they did or didn't, the poster at least made them smile.  It was hard to get him to keep it on, but fortunately, I snapped it in time just as he was trying to pull it off as seen in the picture below.

Eli and His Adoring Fans!

If you look at these pictures, I sometimes feel like they would say to me. "Eli and His Adoring Fans."

Eli and His Cousins

Corwin has been staying with Grandma and Grandpa and Eli is so excited. The first time he saw him, he crawled up to him and grabbed his eye. Corwin's expression was "Why would someone do that to me?" After I apologized, John sarcastically told me it was a matter of bad parenting. The second time Eli saw him, he went right up to him and gave him a kiss on the forehead and cheek. Corwin did not appreciate that either, and he cried.
After a few days, Corwin warmed up. Eli was still very affectionate and tried to kiss him and invade his personal space. Corwin put his hand in his face and shoved him away.
Eli is crawling and Corwin is fascinated with his moving. He watches him very intently and toward the end of his trip, he has started to learn how.
It is amazing at how different the babies are. Their coloring, temperaments and weights are so opposite. Sherstin and I decided that if you take a regular baby and squish him down, you have Eli. If you stretch him out, you have Corwin. When standing, Eli goes up to Corwins ear.
Eli always puts everything in his mouth (including the marbles in the toy Marble Works) and Corwin fingers the object first. Eli doesn't care for baby food and Corwin loves it. I think it's great that they're so different in temperament because they might get along later on.
Eli also gets along with Joe. They are so fascinated with each other and usually go for each other’s eyes. When Eli was 5 months old, we put Eli in front of Joe and he grabbed his hand and put it in his mouth. They also smile at each other and last time they met, Eli kissed Joe’s head.

Crawling Critter

Eli is growing so fast. He is only seven months and he has been crawling since the forth of July. We are not baby proofed and it shows; he is into everything and bonking his poor little head on everything else. He is starting to climb on things like couches and he uses them to hold himself up. When he grabs something he still thinks he is holding onto the couch and falls straight back. He hasn't learn to bend his knees and plop yet.

Awkward!

When Eli wants to feed, he points to my chest and says "Nurse."  I know, it's time to ween, but we are working on it.  While Rachelle was holding him and he pointed to her and said "Nurse." Needless to say, she was mortified and we were a little red in the face.
